Pedro Caixinha sacked as Rangers manager after just seven months in charge

Pedro Caixinha has been sacked as manager of Rangers. An emergency board meeting was held on Thursday in the wake of the club's disappointing start to the season and the decision was taken to dispense with Caixinha's services. Rangers were beaten by Motherwell in the semi-finals of the Betfred Cup on Sunday and followed that up with a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Kilmarnock on Wednesday night in the Scottish Premiership. Caixinha, who was appointed as Mark Warburton's successor in March, won just 14 of his 26 games in charge.
